The Makita 18V X2 LXT Lithium-Ion (36V) Brushless Cordless 1.6 Gallon HEPA Filter Backpack Dry Vacuum Kit (XCV17PG) offers a robust and mobile solution for cleaning that eliminates the hassle of extension cords typically associated with corded backpack vacuums. This model is particularly well-suited for cleaning crews and construction projects, especially when integrated into a dust extraction system.

Powering the XCV17PG are two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, providing the equivalent of 36V performance while staying within the widely-used 18V LXT battery platform. At the heart of this vacuum is an efficient BL Brushless Motor, which delivers a powerful suction of 78 CFM and an impressive 44” of static water lift. This enables rapid clean-ups and enhances dust extraction, all without the inconvenience of a cord to manage.

Weighing in at just 15 lbs. with an empty dust bag and two 18V 5.0Ah batteries, the XCV17PG is designed for comfort during extended use. It features padded shoulder straps and a waist belt with multiple adjustment points, allowing for a customized fit. The push-button power selection controller is conveniently attached to the waist belt of the harness, providing easy operation during cleaning tasks.

The vacuum includes a highly efficient HEPA filter in combination with a filter bag, which successfully captures large, small, and micro dust particles. Additionally, the half-gallon dust collection container can be easily removed for convenient dust disposal. When equipped with two 18V 5.0Ah batteries, users can enjoy up to 139 minutes of continuous operation on the low setting, and approximately 40 minutes on the high setting.

This advanced communication technology facilitates real-time data exchange between the Star Protection-enabled tool and battery, allowing them to monitor operating conditions and protect against scenarios such as overloading, overheating, and over-discharging. For added versatility, the vacuum can also be powered by other compatible Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries that display the star symbol, indicating they contain Star Protection technology.

Key features include the powerful BL Brushless Motor, which generates 78 CFM of suction power along with a 44" water lift capability. Users can expect up to 139 minutes of continuous run time on the normal setting and 40 minutes on the maximum setting when utilizing two 18V LXT 6.0Ah batteries (model BL1860B). The Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger (DC18RD) efficiently charges two 6.0Ah batteries in just 55 minutes. To further extend the main filter's lifespan, the efficient two-stage HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns and larger. Moreover, the absence of carbon brushes in the BL Brushless Motor results in cooler, more efficient operation for heightened longevity.
