Makita XRU15PT 36V (18V X2) LXT® String Trimmer Kit

Landscapers are increasingly demanding cordless alternatives to gas-powered outdoor power equipment. To meet this demand, Makita has expanded its lineup of cordless OPE and introduced the 18V X2 (36V) LXT Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit (model XRU15PT). This cordless string trimmer offers several benefits for landscapers, including zero emissions, lower noise levels, and reduced maintenance compared to gas-powered trimmers.

The XRU15PT is powered by two fast-charging 18V LXT Batteries, providing maximum power and run time while still utilizing the highly preferred 18V battery platform. The electronic controls efficiently manage battery energy to match the demands of the job, ensuring increased power and speed when needed. Additionally, the string trimmer rotates in the same direction as professional-grade trimmers and uses industry standard spindles for added convenience.

The XRU15PT kit includes two fast-charging 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries and an efficient 18V Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger. With Makita's BL brushless motor, the trimmer delivers longer run time, increased power and speed, and a longer tool life. The brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use, resulting in up to 50% longer run time per battery charge compared to non-brushless tools. The Makita-built Outer Rotor Brushless Motor with direct drive provides high power and torque for superior performance.

The XRU15PT is equipped with Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), which includes a protective seal inside the tool. This technology improves the tool's operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust away from key internal components. The XRU15PT is part of Makita's expanding 18V LXT System, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, enabling users to spend more time working and less time waiting for the batteries to recharge.

To enhance tool performance and prolong battery life, Makita developed Star Protection Computer Controls. This communication technology allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange real-time data and monitor conditions during use, protecting against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. Additionally, the tool is compatible with Makita's 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion Batteries, identified by the star symbol on the battery indicating the presence of Star Protection.

The Makita XRU15PT features a Makita-built Outer Rotor BL Brushless Motor direct-drive system, delivering high power and increased torque. It also offers an Automatic Torque Drive Technology mode, automatically shifting between 3,500 and 6,500 RPM for extended run time or added power. With three speed options (Low: 3,500 RPM, Medium: 5,300 RPM, High: 6,500 RPM) for power management and a 15" cutting swath for increased productivity, the XRU15PT is a versatile tool for landscapers. It includes a bump and feed trimmer head loaded with 0.080" twisted quiet line for efficient trimming.
