This cordless string trimmer offers a solution that is not only eco-friendly with zero emissions, but also provides lower noise and requires less maintenance compared to gas-powered trimmers. Power is supplied by two fast-charging 18V LXT Batteries, maximizing both power and run time while remaining compatible with the widely preferred 18V battery platform. The trimmer incorporates electronic controls that efficiently manage battery energy usage, adjusting power and speed to match the needs of the application. Additionally, it rotates in the same counter-clockwise direction as professional-grade trimmers and utilizes industry standard spindles for added convenience.

With the efficient Makita BL brushless motor, the trimmer offers extended run time, increased power and speed, as well as a longer tool lifespan. This motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery use, resulting in up to 50% longer run time per charge compared to non-brushless tools. The XRU15PT features a Makita-built Outer Rotor Brushless Motor with direct drive, delivering high power and torque. To withstand harsh conditions, the trimmer incorporates Makita's Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), which includes a protective seal that channels water and dust away from key internal components.
