Makita introduces the 18V X2 LXT (36V) Lithium-Ion Brushless 9-1/4” Circular Saw Kit (XSH010Z), combining its expertise in brushless motor technology and battery innovation. This kit is powered by two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries for maximum performance. What sets this circular saw apart is its electronically-controlled BL Brushless motor, which adjusts torque and RPM to match the application.

The XSH10Z is designed for accurate ripping and is compatible with Makita Guide Rails (sold separately). With a large cutting capacity of 3-3/8” at 90◦, it can handle demanding applications such as ripping and cross cutting larger beams, boards, and forms. The cordless XSH10Z delivers efficient cutting without the need for a cord. In fact, it can make up to 110 cross cuts in a 3x12 oak board using two fully-charged 5.0Ah batteries.

The brushless motor is electronically-controlled, providing a full 4,500 RPM for efficient cutting. The Automatic Speed Change technology adjusts the cutting speed and torque under load for optimal performance. Additional features include an electric brake for maximum productivity and a soft start for smooth start-ups.

The circular saw has a durable design with a die-cast magnesium base, blade guard, and blade cover, all while being lightweight at only 13.2 lbs. (batteries sold separately). When equipped with the Auto-Start Wireless Transmitter (part no. 198901-5, sold separately), the XSH10Z becomes AWS capable. AWS (Auto-Start Wireless System) uses Bluetooth technology to enable wireless power-on/off communication with the AWS-equipped dust extractor (sold separately). This intelligent communication provides an efficient dust management solution, eliminating cords and reducing noise.

As part of Makita's expanding 18V LXT System, the XSH10Z is powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. These batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, allowing for more time working and less time sitting on the charger. To enhance tool performance and extend battery life, Makita developed Star Protection Computer Controls. This technology enables real-time data exchange between the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery, monitoring conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

Additionally, the XSH10Z can be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. The saw base is compatible with guide rails, making it easy to achieve perfect, dead-on straight or bevel cutting without the need for an adapter.
